Excellent Curl Bar!
Excellent curl bar with handsome chrome finish and knurled hand grips. The solid steel curl bar is heavy duty and has a compact length of about 4'(48"). Also 2" diameter collars are included in the price however I recommend 'spring collars' instead of the 'ring collars' so as not to damage the chrome plating. The 4' length allows you to add a substantial amount of 2" weight plates yet doesn't take up much space in your work-out center or gymnasium. Yes there IS a substantial difference in a curl bar(versus a straight bar for enhanced bicep development) and I am very pleased and I highly recommend this to complement your other exercise equipment! Overall a great bar at a great price with super-fast shipping thank you Amazon!

Great bar for a normal guy.
If your looking to bench press around 250 pounds maximum than this is the bar for you! I can tell that this bar isn't going to hold much more that 300 pounds without wanting to possibly bend but you can't beat it for the price when other supposedly stronger bars will now bend around 350 pounds and cost more than 200 hundred dollars. The quality of everything seems to be much weaker these days but this product is almost as good as the much more expensive ones so save some doe. ;)

A little more weight...
The Cap Barbell Chrome Dumbbell SDC sets are very attractive in appearance. They have a sleek design that gleams in the sunlight and that can be good for motivation. The handles of the dumbbells are rough and knurled so that they are easy to grip. They are easy to wipe down and clean and they tend to keep their shine.
This 5 lbs. dumbbell is the second-lightest weight on offer. For aerobic use weighted-hands while walking and doing other exercises this is a way to go for many. The 3 lbs. level is good for beginners; for a little more burn a few more pounds resistance will help. It may not sound like much but after a while of holding them the weight begins to take its toll. After all two 5 lbs. dumbbells is the equivalent of carrying around a 10 lbs. sack of potatoes.
Gyms and hotels often have this kind of dumbbell and often the full range of these dumbbells. They range from 3lbs. per to 50lbs. per in this range of configuration: 3 5 8 10 12 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 and 50 lbs. This is a very good range. Hard core lifters will want heavier weights but that is often where machines and multiple plate weights come into the picture.
There is a very convenient thing about just going over the rack on the wall and picking up two dumbbells going to work and not having to screw plates on or use tools to adjust clamps and locks. Just pick up the dumbbells and start cranking out the reps.
Dumbbells are useful for many exercises -- from strength training to toning to aerobics. For home use one will probably only need a few sets chosen for one's own resistance level. Figure this out ahead of time because the downside of dumbbells like this is that they are not adjustable -- what you see is what you get.
Lighter weights are useful for toning; heavier weights for strengthening and muscle building. For aerobic help lighter weights are the way to go. These 5 lbs. dumbbells are good for light toning and aerobics. Remember to purchase two of them!
Remember the issue of storage -- a few sets can fit in the closet or under a table and the chrome kind will look nice. If you are serious about working out in different ways then dumbbells should be a part of that training as they are more flexible is use. A set of dumbbells is a must; a few of different weights is a good long-term investment as they do not wear out.

Cap Barbell (3#5#8# Neoprene) ... Great STARTER Dumbell Set
I purchased my Cap Barbell neoprene dumbbell 3#/5#/8# set from another online fitness store about 6 months ago. This set is a great starter set for toning and weight training at home.
These are good quality dumbbells (comparable to Troy brand) and are colored red aqua and purple. Neoprene dumbbells are less damaging on flooring don't smell bad and (because of their hex shape) don't roll away. They are also easier to grip and more gentle on your hands (especially if you prefer to weight train without gloves).
I use these dumbbells almost daily and really like them.

Not quite the expected quality....
When the bar arrived it was in perfect condition... I checked the bearings the straightness of the bar everything. I wanted to test the tensile strength so I loaded all 625 lb of weight that i own. It bowed when all the weight was on it as expected but when I took the weight off the center of the bar was probably displaced a whole 1/2 centimeter -- and all the weight was on it for maybe 30 seconds! If I would have done some deadlifts the bar would have been destroyed. I rolled the bar on the safety rails and watched it wobble away. I was so furious I called the distributor and requested a refund with a free pickup.
My opinion: pay the $200 for a York Power Barbell (1200lb) and save yourself the headache. This bar looks great but it definitely is no 1000-lb barbell even at static weight.

A nice starter dumbbell
Just like the others this dumbbell is solidly built and it feels very even in your hands. The design that keeps it from rolling is very beneficial since you can put it pretty much anywhere that will support the weight. I think this is a good weight to start with as it's a simple way to break into strength training without being too difficult. It's a particularly nice dumbbell for curls too. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

A Great Workout Bench
This is a surprisingly sturdy lightweight bench to use for dumbbell exercises. Not only is it affordable but it is easier to put together than the average treadmill. The manual's instructions for putting the bench together are clear and easy to follow and it offers good advice on how to get started coming up with an exercise routine. The bench's backrest is adjustable (a hard-to-find but important feature) so you can do the full range of dumbbell exercises.
Customers should know before buying that the bench is designed to support a maximum user weight of 250 lbs with a combined dumbbell weight of 100 lbs. So although you cannot use this bench for lifting massive weights it is ideal for people who are just starting out or who are focusing on fitness instead of extreme bodybuilding.

Decent weight set
These are decent weights - carry case arrived damaged it was replaced for us - the weights themselves are solid and easy to handle.
Caveat: a 40 pound set is not much weight - I figured it would be plenty for me as I'm just getting into this but actually my wife's outgrown them as well.
Thing is the bar weighs 5 pounds you get 15 pounds of assorted weight for each of the two bars total 40 pounds this allows you to set up from 5 to 20 pound dual dumbbells or a single up to 35 pounds - not quite enough to get there from here.
Plan on adding a few more 5 pounder or 10 pounders to it is all - they are available separately so no big deal. I've set these bars up with 65 pounds of weights with no problem using 10 pounders.
The bars are good quality and have rubber washers to lock the weights in place.
For some exercises the 14 inch bars get in the way compared to simple hex dumbbells and it does take a while to change weights between moves but it's tolerable especially compared to blowing $500 on adjustable weights with plastic adjustment tabs no less.
For the price keep a couple sets around - you get more versatility in weight and you get the ability to set up 2 sets for yourself at a time - allowing quicker workouts at the weight of your choosing without investing in a zillion separate dumbbells.
Would definitely do again.

AVOID!
I bought this product thinking it was "new" as described. Waited 2 weeks for item to arrive and found that the metal pieces were badly scratched up. The bolts srews and washers were not in its packing and they were spread all over the shipping box; imagine trying to find all those little pieces and assembling the bench with it- its impossible! What made it worse was that the pictures for the instruction was hard to see and make out bc it was bad quality. If you notice how the bench is black well that's because it's poorly spray painted and you will get black paint residue all over your hands. I will never purchase a CAP product item again nor will I order a weight bench from amazon again. Prior to purchasing this bench I bought a CAP weight set and the weight plates from CAP was poorly made as well; I also returned that item. Do yourself a favor and AVOID getting this item.

Advertized as a sold "together" item with bench - does not fit
We ordered this item along with a bench set for our sons 14th birthday. Although this is a GOOD item- we purchased together to save $$ (it was more to purchase a barbell separate) As we got it together we learned it does NOT FIT on the bench set it was offered with. It should NOT have been put together as a "buy together to save". Beings we live in AK and shipping was horrendous as it was- we chose to just "make do" rather than ship back/reorder.

Compact and work great
I love these weights because they work perfectly with my old short "Firm" barbell. The design is slim and aesthetically pleasing no extra bulk and no rough edges to snag on anything.

Don't have the time or money to showoff in a gym? Then get the versatile BAR
The best bar I ever owned. Don't go for bars that don't come with their own locks because you'll be wasting your money. I once bought a bar said to secure standard weight plates thinking I can use the same locks I used for my dumbbells which also supported standard plates and the bar ended up being like a millimeter short and my locks wouldn't fit it. Yes standard size bars or locks are not always the same size.
I've had bars that would rust on me in less than a month but this one is holding out. The locks screw on and off so easy I love it and I can usually complete two or three workouts before having to tighten them again. It may seem skinny and hard to feel in my grip but all bars feel that way to me. It sometimes falls too short when I do the overhead press. I'm 6 ft so if I'm not careful where I place my hands the weight hits the side of my forearm when doing this particular exercise and my 20lb plates are small designed for dumbbells. I have the same problem with the bench press. But with everything else (bent over row upright row squats deadlift or even curls if your wrists can take it) this bar makes a tough workout comfortable.
I use to do everything with dumbbells but I find bars make things so much easier when doing compound workouts using both arms or legs. Especially with bent over rows or presses because I spend less time concentrating on maintaining equal distance between hands and more time focusing on movement muscle contraction and good form which is essential in preventing injury.

Cap Barbell FMG-3006 review
I bought this piece of equipment based on my own study of this type of equipment and a bang for your buck attitude. I cannot say I am unhappy at all. I weigh around 200 pounds. I recived the apparatus and took it home. I also bought a 4x8 rubber mat for it. It was very easy to assemble and I had already looked at the engineering of it so I knew it would be stable.
I use it all the time. The dip arms could have been engineered so they would not move at all but I have it tightened up and it really isnt an issue. I would have raised the back pad and made the arms about one or two inches longer but it works fine for me. I would recommend this item for anyone up to about 220 pounds but not much more. I have a dip belt which I use to do pullups and I have put about 70 pounds on the belt and done pullups with no problems whatsoever. I am very pleased with it especially at the price. Thank You for asking.
I have used every aspect of it and it is a solid viable home workout item for people wishing to have something when they cannot get to the gym. The execises done with it are very important to all around strength in performance atheletes. So get off your butts and buy this people and quit fooling yourselves that pullupsdipscrunches and pushups are not needed to win in todays competitions of virtually every physical sport.

The handles move
The handles keep slipping to one side and it is very hard to put them back. Also they were chipping and I got one of the chips stuck in my finger. Not worth the money.

Chinesee JUNK
I didn't buy this product from Amazon so it's not their fault but I did buy locally. After getting home with the product I unwrapped the plastic from the box opened the box and found the inside to be moldey. If that was not bad enought (you could see mold and smell it) I looked at the bars and one of the nuts were rusty and crome paint was flaking off (under crome paint was deep rust). This is nothing but junk so I returned and told the local store (not that cared). Do not buy spend a little more money and get something better rather than from CAP.

UPS guy thought it was a heavy fishing pole??
No sir it's a 7 foot solid steel chrome barbell and it is being put to good use. The only complaint here is that the stated weight capacity is 250 lbs? We'll see. I have a new safety-power rack and I intend to use these components to the fullest. Once again shopping this bar via Amazon was a total 110% SATISFACTORY experience. I could not find a 7ft standard 1" bar in my area nor on line for this price. Only Amazon had it. The expected SHIP time was 3-5 business days but okay I had no choice! I ordered it on Tuesday it got here THURSDAY of the same week! I was shocked when I saw UPS pull up outside. Why is he stopping here all I have outstanding is the bar and it won't be here til next week I thought! Then I saw him pull the long slender BUT HEAVY package from the back of the Big Brown Truck! FANTASTIC!!! (not my exact word but it's a family site!) I ran out there and dude was like..."uhh this is too heavy to be a fishing pole...." so I informed him AND THANKED HIM! I live in a rural area and the Amazon shopping tool (along with UPS and Fed EX) are SO INVALUABLE!! Man I love it! PS: the bar is fine. I recommend it especially if you buy a power rack. Six foot bar or shorter will not work!
